This weekend we celebrate Good Friday, a day set aside to remember the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior. Jesus willingly chose to come to earth to be a human (the God-man), and to die on the Cross to pay the penalty of death that we deserve for our sin. Because of His sacrifice, “it is finished” (John 19:30)—the debt has been paid, and we can have forgiveness and new life.
Good Friday is good because of what Christ accomplished through His death (and because death wasn’t the end for Jesus!). I encourage you to reflect on the verses below that describe what Jesus, through His death, did for us. May you be moved to worship your Creator and Savior with thanksgiving.
