God Says There are 7 Events Coming - Dr. John Barnett
Description:
What’s Next for Planet Earth: This week I was examining just how much God has left for us to know about the future.I hold in my hand the ONE Book that God wrote—the Bible. This one book, made up of 66 books has a total of 31,103 verses. Of all the verses in the Bible 8,352 verse are prophetic or spoke to future events. All Biblical predictions about the future in these thousands verses can be grouped into 737 different predictions.
Of these 8,352 verses, 6,312 (or 522 different predictions) have already happened to the letter, JUST LIKE God’s Word said they would.
God Gives the Specific Details on the End of the World: That leaves just about 2,040 verses with 215 specific predictions from God about the end of the world that are in process of being fulfilled.
So, the Bible contains many specific events that would signal the end of days for life on planet earth as it has been for the past several thousand years.
Each of the prophetic signs Christ and His apostles gave are specific and not vague.
Jesus explained to us in Matthew 24, verses 8 and 33-34—that these events would begin at the same time, run concurrently, and crescendo like the pains of a woman giving birth—the closer we get to His Second coming. The list of Biblical Signs of Christ's Return will not actually be full blown until the Tribulation time.
Each of the signs of Christ's Return He said--are trends. These trends are speeding up—the last seconds of the countdown clock of Christ's return are clicking down. Each day the prophetic picture Christ painted grows clearer.
Each of these signs were captured by the apostles and prophets between 2,000 and 3,500 years ago.
Now they are happening in our lifetime! But, in all of history--ONLY our generation has seen EVERY ONE of these events starting to unfold.
All of the yet to be completed prophecies fit within these seven major events. Probably the most exciting of all are the signs of Christ's Second Coming. There are dozens of them. Jesus described many of them in incredible detail. But here is what I want you to see—Jesus said these signs would not suddenly appear. He said that they would rather become a trend that amplified and strengthened until it became overwhelming like “birth pangs”.
Let me give you just a handful of the precise, clear, specific predictions that Christ's Words in this Book give us. You may be startled. Every one of the signs Christ gave are present in your world today. You are the first generation in all of history to experience these trends, these signs—all at once!
What are some of them? We will actually in the days ahead look at these in detail, but here they are in summary.

How to Survive the End of the World - Dr. John Barnett
Description:
The Almighty God who sees everything, knows everything, and is infinitely wise, has a plan. That plan involves ending the sin, death, evil, and rebellion in this world. That plan has been written down and is ours to read today.
Only God knows the future. No person, no demon, no astrologer, no prophet, no writer, no one but God KNOWS the future. That is one of the most amazing facets of God’s character. He is never surprised. God always knows what WILL happen; and only He knows that. We need to listen to God.
The Return of the King
All of human history, since the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden, has been hurtling towards this moment, when the Creator and King of the Universe comes back to set things in order.
For thousands of years sin has run rampantly throughout the earth and the universe. Satan and his evil angels have done all they could do to thwart and disrupt the knowledge of God. Evil and misery have festered. Sin has permeated every part of human history. Death has taken every human but Enoch & Elijah. No one else has avoided death. So how can someone survive the end of the world? By listening to God's Word.
The flow of Revelation is simple to see.
• Chapter 1 is Jesus Christ showing Himself in all His glory, as Almighty God the Son. Lesson: the only hope of surviving the end of days is with Christ.
• Chapters 2 and 3 are Christ's personal letters to the churches that bear His Name. Lesson: we who are in Christ's church have a very specific purpose in life.
• Chapters 4 and 5 are Christ's guided tour of the Throne Room of God
Revelation 6-19 marks the Lord says enough and starting the inexorable conquest back of sin’s reign and Satan’s rebellion.
There is probably no part of Scripture more relevant to our times than this one. No portion of Scripture better frames the way we should see global events than this one. We are in the timeliest, most cutting edge truths of God's Word as we enter these chapters, because:
Only God knows the Future
To understand the magnitude of what lies before us, do you remember God’s calling card from the Old Testament? When Israel was sinking into idolatry, false worship, and apostasy, God declared that they could know which God was the true God by the simple fact that only He knew the future.
Look with me at Isaiah 41 as we read a most amazing declaration.
As you turn there, think of what God is saying. He says no person, no group, no creature, no angel, nothing in the Universe but God Almighty knows the future. As we read this think of the power of the Bible. God has told us everything we need to know to live today and to be ready for every, and any, tomorrow. Since God already knows what is coming, He has packed His Word with everything needed.
The more you ponder that truth, the more your heart should be drawn to this Book. It is all we need for life (dealing with whatever comes) and godliness (being all that God wants us to be).
This is a powerful tool, a priceless gift, to hold our very own copy of God’s voice telling us what is coming in the future, and narrating exactly what we need to do to be ready.Only God can declare ahead of time the future. Here is God’s challenge:
Isaiah 41:21-23 (NKJV) “Present your case,” says the Lord. “Bring forth your strong reasons,” says the King of Jacob. 22 “Let them bring forth and show us what will happen; Let them show the former things, what they were, That we may consider them, And know the latter end of them; Or declare to us things to come. 23 Show the things that are to come hereafter, That we may know that you are gods; Yes, do good or do evil, That we may be dismayed and see it together.
Pray
God says, listen to me, only I know the future. Now, turn back to the end of God's Word, to the final, written-in-advance history, describing of the end of days for human history.
God’s Written Description of the End of the World
This final book of the Bible was sent to us by God the Father, through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the final information we need to survive the last days.
Description: [God] has given us an explicit account of the creation of the universe in Genesis chapters 1 and 2. He has also given us explicit accounts of the destruction of this universe. There are a number of passages in which reference is made to the destruction of the universe in which we live, but one of them is most notable and most detailed. It is in the second epistle of Peter chapter 3.
Description:
The return of Jesus Christ, sad to say, seems to be a subject treated with pretty much indifference in the evangelical world today; and yet it is not only a cardinal truth of Christianity, but it is essentially the ultimate truth of Christianity, because everything is moving toward our Lord’s return. One could argue that this is the most important of all doctrines, because every other doctrine ultimately consummates in Christ returning for His people and judging the ungodly and setting up His kingdom, and then creating the new heaven and the new earth where we will dwell with Him forever. The end of the story is the whole point of the story. There are so many who ignore the end of the story, which is a tragic perspective in all regards, and an irresponsible one as well, I think.
The Bible is crystal clear on what is to come in the future, and this is our hope. We don’t need to be living in this world worrying about what is going to happen to the planet or to the nations or in the future politically or economically or on any other level, because the final chapter of human history has already been written in Scripture. We know what is coming, and we know our Lord is on schedule. God’s sovereignty is, of course, ultimately vindicated when the end of the story is written in history. That’s what we live for. We call it the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
We’re waiting for the return of the Lord Jesus. The Messiah has already come. We’re not looking for another human deliverer, we are looking for the one Redeemer, the one Savior, the one Deliverer to come back and take His own to be with Him, judge the ungodly, and establish the glorious kingdom promised to the saints. And then, to go into the new heaven and the new earth, and worship forever and ever in perfect joy and peace. That is what the Bible promises Christians. So I want to talk to you about that over the next couple of weeks, and I want to dig down a little bit into these things, because I know there are a lot of people who have different views about this. We’re just going to take what God said in the Bible; and it’s very straightforward and not at all difficult to understand. So for a beginning point, we’re going to talk about the next event on God’s prophetic timetable, the next event on God’s prophetic timetable.

The book of Revelation is a book that is often set aside because it is too difficult to understand, too creepy, or too scary. Conversely, it is one of the most exciting books in the New Testament, and promises a blessing just for reading it! This message is the first in the verse-by-verse study of Revelation. Description:
In the continuing study of the book of Revelation, we have the record John the Apostle receiving a vision of the glorified Lord Jesus Christ. The description that John gives communicates the wonderful truth that Jesus is God, the Son, that He is awesome and power, the Second Person of the Triune God, and that He has authority over life and death. He is able to save those who by grace come to Him in faith and repentance. Jesus is head of the church, who loves and protects His people.
