IS GOD REALLY THE ONE BEHIND ‘THE CHOSEN,’ AS THE CREATOR OF THE SERIES DECLARES?
(Christian Research Network)
Thousands of people, including many Christians, have tuned in to watch the series The Chosen. The series is about Jesus Christ and His disciples, both before and after their ministry began. The Chosen has been a great success and as a result another season is in the offing. In her piece The Chosen and The Shift, Ingrid McCullough warns that it’s not just a show:
Mr. Jenkins is involved in writing study guides and devotionals that go along with his portrayal of Christ and His followers. Churches and small groups will be watching episodes of The Chosen and using the accompanying materials for the sake of spiritual growth. He argues that The Chosen doesn’t replace Scripture but He does claim that God is the one behind it, wanting to use the series to bring people closer to Christ. This same line of reasoning is used by the LDS to promote the Book of Mormon…
There are a whole host of pseudo-Christian cults around the globe. One of the most well-known cults is Mormonism. No doubt some will find my assertion that they are caught up in a cult humorous, while others may find it disturbing that I would even suggest such a thing. However, as a Christian I’m not called to be nice; I’m called to speak the truth in love; likewise, I’m called to “contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3).

‘The Chosen’ Is An Affront To A Holy God
(Christian Research Network)
I am sorry, but enjoying the “personality” Dallas Jenkins has given his false Jesus is wrong. Enjoying The Chosen with your family, because it helps provide “discussion points,” is wrong.
I am the wrong guy for this. My friends, especially in my old church, know how flawed I am. But I ask again, how can we think this….creation….by Dallas Jenkins (the earthly middleman) can in any way bless or help us in our walk?

Get Used to a Different Jesus
(Christian Research Network)
The Chosen is a popular series, it has well over 200 million views and has already been translated into 50 different languages. The goal is to reach 1 billion people. To a large degree, the show’s popularity boils down to feelings. Fans of The Chosen disregard valid criticism because the show tickles their emotions and stimulates their imagination. Where scripture is silent regarding certain events or the characters of Jesus and his disciples, Jenkins has used his imagination to fill the gaps. Fact – the show is not an authentic portrayal of Jesus or his disciples and is not faithful to the biblical text. (More on that here, here & here) Some find the mixture of facts and fiction in the series heartwarming and entertaining, but we don’t need warm and fuzzy feelings or speculation to know the Christ of the scriptures. We need the scriptures and the illumination of the Holy Spirit, not the imagination of Jenkins. Christians who defend the series, claim that it’s “brought them closer to Jesus” or that they’ve been touched by God in some way. Supposedly, this is proof that the show is “anointed.” This subjective argument is a product of an experience-driven Christianity that is leading many into deception. Furthermore, it fails to take into account similar testimonies from Mormons.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. (Colossians 2:8-9)

(Ron DiGiacomo) Many Christians believe that the second commandment has always only been against making an image of God and using it as a worship aid, like Roman Catholicism promotes in practice. (The Eastern Church’s icons are usually up for grabs.) A growing number of Protestants who avoid crucifixes and such will say that the commandment is addressing carved images or possibly God’s divine nature but certainly not Jesus’ human nature acted out in a movie.

In this episode, I rant about my concerns regarding the very popular series, "The Chosen." Another American fiction tale about Christ that only serves to misinform, confuse people but it is entertaining or so they say.
"As the series has gained popularity, its producers and actors have embraced ecumenism, with Jonathan Roumie [a devout Roman Catholic] and Dallas Jenkins [a professing Christian] visiting the Vatican to promote the series by meeting Pope Francis." (Paul Brown) A recently released trailer from season 3 of The Chosen reveals that the show has gone full Mormon. In the clip published on the show’s Facebook page, Jonathan Roumie, the actor who portrays Jesus in the series, makes the statement, “I am the law of Moses.” Contrary to this misquotation, Jesus never claimed to be the law of Moses, but rather claimed to “fulfill the law” in Matthew 5:17.
"Characteristics of a CW show are good looking actors, hyper-emotionalism, and bad messaging."
(Ray Fava - Evangelical Dark Web) Christian media is full of shills for The Chosen, and the latest media tour of its cast has publications like CBN and Christian Post misrepresenting the impact that the popular series has had on its actors. During an interview with Faithwire she revealed that she is a skeptic that had become “more open.” This is being hailed as a win and a profound spiritual awakening.
Is “The Chosen” finally bringing Christians, Mormons, and Catholics together in ecumenical unity? Who is this Jesus presented in the TV series? Is this a Jesus like the rest of us, the latter-day saints Jesus, or the least common denominator (LCD) Jesus? Or, is this the Creator of the Universe, God incarnate, and the Judge of the World? We revisit the outrageously popular “The Chosen” TV series, finding snippets of the Book of Mormon, the book of humanist trite phrases, and odd twists on Scripture mixed into the dialogue. We compare the writings of 3 Nephi with Jesus’s teachings in Matthew 5.
The Book of Mormon claims to be "a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible." Both the Bible and the Book of Mormon declare themselves to be ancient, historical, and reliable rules of faith—the very Word of God. Join Eric Hovind and James Walker as they put the Bible and the Book of Mormon to the tests of history, archaeology, textual criticism, and other disciplines to shed light on what is true...and what is false. As you know, truth never fears investigation. Discover for yourself which of these books is worthy of being called "scripture" and which is worthy of your trust.
The Bible vs The Book of Mormon

The dark world of The Chosen no one talks about, and 99% of Christians miss this hidden truth about the Chosen. Most people focus on the content of the movies but fail to realize that what makes the Chosen bad is what happens off screen. Reactions from John MacArthur, Voddie Baucham, Dallas Jenkins, Jonathan Roumie, etc.
Description: You have likely heard about and may have seen The Chosen television series. Tens of millions of people all over the world are watching it. It’s been translated into dozen of languages. Most Christians love it and call it life-changing. Even many non-Christians say how it’s given them a new perspective on Jesus. The series, now in its third season, depicts the life of Jesus generally based on biblical accounts and particularly from the perspectives of those closest to Jesus. “Generally” being the important word because what Dallas Jenkins, lead creator, has done is added all kinds of “plausible” fiction to the gospel accounts. For example, Jesus is portrayed as doing speech prep before the Sermon on the Mount. The apostle Matthew is portrayed as autistic. Is this a problem? Don’t all films and books use “artistic license”? Isn’t the greater good that so many millions of people are seeing Jesus in a “fresh” and “relatable” way? This weekend on The Christian Worldview, we will examine The Chosen and ask the questions—is it honoring to God and His Word and therefore something you and your family should watch? Listen here.

There are at least four major differences between Catholics and Christians / Catholics and Protestants. When asked, what do Catholics believe, many would say it is the same as protestants, but that is simply not the case. What Catholics believe about salvation, and life after death are very different from what a Protestant believes, among other Catholic beliefs, including the Catholic Sacraments.

The Shift by Angel Studios gives the story of Job a sci-fi twist but leaves out some important theological truths
"...[D]espite its interesting premise and strong production values, Christians looking for a faith-based movie should be wary of The Shift. Brock Heasley, the film’s writer and director, is a Mormon, and the story is clearly told from that perspective. The Christian understanding of grace is absent in this film. Instead Kevin must earn Heavenly Father’s favor by living a life devoted to good deeds. ...Heasley says the movie is about hope in the midst of grief, and that it’s inspired by the book of Job. But his Mormon upbringing keeps him from actually understanding Job’s story." Read more:

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as the LDS Church and as the Mormon church, is one of the largest religious cults in the world. ‘The Chosen’ Supports Homosexuality - Evangelical Dark Web The Chosen has acquired a cult following among many believers. Millions of Evangelicals, Catholics, and Mormons have funded and watched the series. However, The Chosen is not without glaring issues. Evangelical Dark Web has done a series of episodic reviews, generally finding the series to not meet the standards of good television nor a faithful adaptation of Scripture. Yet behind the scenes there are major concerns. The Chosen is funded and distributed through Angel Studios which is a Mormon owned company giving the series a group to cater to in its writing....
