Beliefs have consequences, good or bad, whether those beliefs are true or false. If you believe as adherents to false religions do, that you have to work your way to heaven (paradise) instead of what the Bible says, that we are saved by grace and not by works ("For by grace you have been saved through faith [in Christ], and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9) and if you believe that the only way to have assurance of heaven (paradise) is by killing the "infidel" (non-Muslims) as the Muslim terrorists on 9/11 did, then this remains a great motivator for terrorism.
