The most important question of all time...
"WHO DO YOU SAY I AM?"
"WHO DO YOU SAY I AM?"
The following is from Grace To You:
With that brief question Jesus Christ confronted His followers with the most important issue they would ever face. He had spent much time with them and made some bold claims about His identity and authority. Now the time had come for them either to believe or deny His teachings.
Who do you say Jesus is? Your response to Him will determine not only your values and lifestyle, but your eternal destiny as well.
Consider what the Bible says about Him: http://www.gty.org/resources/articles/A335
John 1: 1-18 (New King James Version)
The Eternal Word
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John’s Witness: The True Light
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
The Word Becomes Flesh
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ ” 16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

John MacArthur: Who Is Jesus?
The Gospel concerns the person of Jesus. But who is he? The Old Testament promised the coming of a Messiah who would save his people. In this message, Dr. John MacArthur will demonstrate that Jesus is the promised Messiah, the incarnate Son of God, fully God and fully man.

Colossians 1:15-20 (New King James Version)
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
Reconciled in Christ
19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
The doctrine of the Trinity states that in the unity of the Godhead there are three eternal and co-equal Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the same in essence but distinct in role — three Persons (or three centres of consciousness) and one Being. The doctrine of the Trinity is difficult for some people to understand, but this is what God has revealed in Scripture about His own Being, so we should believe it. Listen.

Who Is This Jesus: Is He the Only Way? Part 2
|
The New Testament clearly teaches that Jesus claimed to be God. The Bible also affirms the deity of Christ. This is evident in a variety of ways. First, Jesus claimed to be equal with God. He could forgive sin, something only God could do (Mark 2:5). Jesus claimed power to raise the dead (John 5:25-29). He claimed to be honored as God (John 5:18, 23) as well as to be equal with the Father (John 10:30). Read more: https://www.compellingtruth.org/Jesus-claim-God-deity-biblical.html. What is the meaning of the name Jesus?
"God knows my heart." The implication is that we are good (have good hearts) and that everything is going to be okay. The fact that God knows our hearts is not a good thing, not for the unbeliever anyways. The Bible says: "The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9). See: How Bad Are You? - One Way Jesus

Cultish: The Jesus of the Cults on Podbean
One of the world’s most renowned experts on the cults, Dr. Walter Martin, wrote a book called “The Kingdom of the Cults”. In this historic work, Dr. Martin emphasized the need to “scale the language barrier” and to “define your terms” when dealing with loved-ones who are lost in a cult. There is not only the problem of the sociological and psychological manipulation of the cults. There is the problem of the language barrier and the “Jesus of the Cults”. VCY Rallies | Dr. Norman L. Yes, He gets us! He gets that we are sinners in need of a Savior!
1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:1-7 New King James)
Evaluating the “He Gets Us” Campaign for “Brand Jesus” - The Christian Worldview with David Wheaton
No matter the current event, the most important issue is always how sinful man can be reconciled to Holy God.
The ‘He Gets Us’ Woke Jesus Wasn’t Woke Enough And Never Will Be - Christian Research Network
It’s amazing how many liberals saved their outrage for the He Gets Us commercials which aired during the Super Bowl. Last week, Evangelical Dark Web exposed the groups behind He Gets Us, which included David Green of Hobby Lobby and Signatry. Ironic as it may seem, David Green would partner with a pro-abortion firm to market Jesus. What was the ROI for investing tens of millions of dollars in Super Bowl ads? As it would seem, the exact people the ads were marketed to hated them.
What ‘He Gets Us’ Gets Wrong | Allie Beth Stuckey
Today we're recapping last night's Super Bowl and breaking down the "He Gets Us" campaign, which paid for two ad spots in last night's game. We explain the two "He Gets Us" ads and how they don't actually share the gospel but instead affirm that Christianity is actually about us to people who already dislike Christianity. We talk about what this ad campaign misses about Jesus and how essential the full truth of the gospel is when you have the money, time, and ability to convey the gospel message in 45 seconds during the Super Bowl. We explain why you shouldn't be discouraged by this and how we can be praying for people to hear the real, unapologetic gospel.
Under New Management: ‘He Gets Us’ Attacks Christians In Woke Super Bowl Ad - Christian Research Network “Is it any surprise that He Gets Us chose to depict pro-lifers as villains and homosexuals as fabulous?”
The world loves the Social Justice woke Jesus, a false Jesus, but they hate the real Jesus, the Jesus of the Bible!
Much like the woke Jesus of the "He Gets Us" campaign, The Chosen Jesus is also a false Jesus. The “Jesus” of ‘The Chosen’ is not the Jesus of the Bible. He is a counterfeit Jesus, an idol created in the mind of Dallas Jenkins.
He Gets Us... But Do We Get Him? - Melissa Dougherty
This is one of those times when I see something mass advertised that makes Jesus their mascot for whatever cultural social trend is happening at the moment, and The He Gets Us Campaign is no different. I didn't say anything last year. This year, I am.
Unshaken Faith | Update: The He Gets Us Campaign STILL Does Not Get Jesus on Podbean

The Generations Radio Program | He Gets Us Super Bowl Ads on Podbean
The “He Gets Us” campaign is back, unfortunately—spending $100 million on a PR campaign for Jesus. The question that keeps coming back to us . . . How does anyone get the message so wrong? But more importantly, how do we shift our minds out of this man-centered view to a God-centered view? Without a 180-degree shift, we’re done for.
The Sword & The Trowel | TS&TT: He Gets Us... But Not Like That! on Podbean
Tom Ascol and Graham Gunden talk about the "He Gets Us" campaign and the two most recent ads that played during the Super Bowl. They unpack the ads and discuss how they miss the real Jesus and the whole Gospel. Are these ads helpful? Does Jesus really "get us"?
The Christian Worldview | How “He Gets Us” Doesn’t Get Jesus and the Gospel on Podbean
The problem is, and it’s a problem of the greatest significance, that the real Jesus Christ of Scripture is being misrepresented in the He Gets Us campaign, along with His main message: “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10).
The Biblical gospel of God’s holiness, man’s sinfulness, Jesus’ substitution and resurrection, and Christ’s command to “repent and believe the gospel” is either not clearly presented or is obfuscated by the heavy emphasis on Jesus as a role model who gets our problems and predicaments.
The false Christ and gospel being presented by He Gets Us is all the more pernicious now that the organization is funded to the tune of $1B. Yes, you heard that correctly, one billion dollars to portray a skewed version of Jesus.
Grace & Truth with Owen Strachan | He Saves Us: A Response to "He Gets Us" on Podbean

"CHRISTIANS" ARE BEING LED TO THE GATES OF HELL BY PROGRESSIVE’S FAKE JESUS by Marsha West - Christian Research Network
There is only ONE person who can save sinners from hell and that Person is not the Jesus of the progressive movement. Nor is he the Jesus of the cults.
[T]he only Jesus who saves sinners from hell is the Son of God, who condescended to leave heaven and become a man for ONE purpose, and ONE purpose only: The Son of God came to Earth to reconcile sinful man to the Father through the Son, Jesus Christ.
