Unless you have been born again, you WILL NOT enter the kingdom of heaven!
Have you been born again?
Dennis Miller, SNL Alumni and conservative radio talk show host is quoted as having said,"Born again?! No, I'm not. Excuse me for getting it right the first time.” Dennis Miller, like so many others, needs to read the New Testament account of the conversation that the Jewish religious leader, Nicodemus had with Jesus (see below).
Christ Witnesses to Nicodemus
1 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” 3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ (John 3:1-7 NKJV, emphasis added)

"Born again" is not a type of Christian; all Christians have been born again. There is no such thing as a Christian who has not been born again.
It's been said: born once, die twice; born twice, die once. Mike Gendron (of Proclaiming the Gospel) writes, "I praise my God and Creator that He has caused me to be born twice (physically and spiritually) and I will die only once (physically). Those who are born only once (physically) will die twice (physically and spiritually)."
Mike Gendron writes: "The Lord Jesus Christ said we must be born again to enter or see the Kingdom of God." (John 3:3). "...God's Word says those who receive Jesus by faith were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1:12-13). "...Spiritual life can only be brought forth by the Spirit of God, who is controlled by the Will of God, and who applies the Word of God to a sinner's heart." (James 1:18).
How does one become "born again" you ask? For one to become born again is a work of God but one does also have a responsibility. One must repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ alone for salvation and not (Jesus plus) his/her own good works, religious rituals or traditions. Salvation is a free gift of God and not something that can be earned (or added to). "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9).
