Post by ONE WAY JESUS. Why Beth Moore and Not Me? The Danger of Claiming to Receive Direct Revelation by Erin Benziger When God speaks, He does so with authority. He issues no 'lesser' revelation. His words are full and final and they stand for eternity. This is why His Word is so precious. It is unchanging, and it is the sole authority for the Christian. In the Bible, God has revealed all that the Christian needs to know in matters pertaining to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). In this Word, He has revealed to us His Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is the Living Word (John 1:1) and He is the final Word (Heb 1:1–2). Any claim that is made, then, that God continues to speak outside of His Word and deliver direct, personal revelation is one that must be considered with great seriousness. After all, if God always speaks with authority, then such revelations must be perceived to be as inspired as Scripture. Any private prophecy, voice, dream or vision that is claimed to be from God must find a place in the back of our Bibles and our Bible 'reading plans' must be extended to include these words. Mustn't they? Read more: http://www.worldviewweekend.com/news/article/why-beth-moore-and-not-me-danger-claiming-receive-direct-revelation No Compromise Radio: Sola Beth Moore-a or Sola Scriptura? Are you sure?
Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven." One sure way not to go to heaven is by depending on your own goodness. A common misconception is that God has a set of scales and that He is going to weigh up the good and the bad and if you have done more good than bad you will get in. Not true and nowhere to be found in the Holy Bible. Good people don't go to heaven, only people who realize that they are inherently wicked and have been forgiven by God through Jesus' finished work on the cross at Calvary. If you were to die today...Download File We Are Saved By Faith [We] know that no one is justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ. And we have believed in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no human being will be justified. (Galatians 2:16) "The irony is that most people who believe that you have to work your way to heaven, are not working!" ~ Dr. D. James Kennedy 8 Reasons Why We Can't Work Our Way To Heaven 1. If we can get to heaven by our own good works then why did Jesus have to suffer and die? Why did God the Father, send His only Son, Jesus Christ, to this earth to be born, not in a royal palace, but in a lowly manger? Why did the Father send His only Son, knowing beforehand that Jesus would be rejected by men, scorned, beaten, mocked, ridiculed, slandered, slapped, punched, spat upon, have his beard plucked out, and a crown of thorns pressed into his head? Why did the Father allow His only Son to be stripped naked, tortured, crucified, and to have a spear thrust into His side (God could have intervened) if it were possible for us to gain salvation apart from Christ? "I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!" The following is from CARM: What is Friendship Evangelism? By Tony Miano (edited by Matt Slick) “Friendship Evangelism,” also known as “lifestyle evangelism,” “servant evangelism,” or “relational evangelism,” is a form of evangelism commonly practiced in present-day American evangelicalism. The overarching principle in “friendship evangelism,” regardless of the methods employed, is to befriend an unsaved person with the hope of one day having the opportunity to share the gospel with him or her. It is both a common and accepted practice among proponents of “friendship evangelism” to spend an undetermined period of time (days, weeks, months, even years) in an effort to develop a relationship with an unsaved person. Proponents of “friendship evangelism” often see the presentation of the gospel as a privilege given by the unbeliever, or a right earned by the believer [1], which is made possible through the investment of time and service in a relationship. This video addresses the false claim that as a Christian, "all I have to do is live a good life and people will know all they need to know about God." The claim that you don't have to share your faith with your mouth is deBunked. |
