The Good Place revolves around a pretty quirky and unique concept. The lead character Eleanor, played by Veronica Marsand Frozen actress Kristen Bell, wakes up in a strange place to find out that she is, in fact, dead. Before she can be too upset, she discovers that she has been admitted into The Good Place, aka Heaven. We are then quickly introduced to her heavenly mentor, played by the legendary Ted Danson, as well as her new soul mate. All seems to be going well, except for one thing.
Eleanor isn’t a good person. She doesn’t belong in The Good Place.
Apparently some sort of heavenly mix up happened, and Eleanor’s death was confused with someone else’s. She hasn’t done anything in her life that warrants her admission into The Good Place, but she sure as hell isn’t going to tell anyone about that. Speaking of hell, The Bad Place is a thing, and it’s full on fire and brimstone so Eleanor is planning on swerving this indiscretion indefinitely.

The Good Place is a deception.
NBC will be airing a new comedy this Fall (2016) about a woman who dies and mistakenly ends up in The Good Place, aka heaven (see above). Why mistakenly? Well, because she hasn't been a good person. In other words, the show is based on the false premise that good people go to heaven and bad people go to hell. This is a lie with eternal consequences! Not to mention it calls into question God's sovereignty, as if anyone could end up in heaven (or hell) without God knowing about it. God is the one who sends them there. Hello?
No Good People
Good people don't go to heaven because there are no good people. Only bad people who have been forgiven by a good God go to heaven!
The Bible says that no one is good but God and no amount of good works will gain anyone entrance into heaven; it's only by His merit and not our own. (see: Mark 10:18, Romans 3:10; 3:23, & Ephesians 2:8-9).
Moralism
The popular belief today is that God has a set of scales and that he is going to weigh up the good and the bad and if the good outweighs the bad, then you will get in (heaven). This is not true. Though believed by followers of many different religions (including those who claim to be Christian), this is nowhere to be found in the Bible.
According to the Bible, good people don't go to heaven (including those who believe in God), only those people who realize that they are wretched sinners and have been forgiven by God through Jesus' finished work on the cross at Calvary by repentance of sin and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone.
