“They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us” (1 John 2:19).
You and your spouse are Christians. You do all the “right things” in raising your children: teach them the Bible and the way of salvation, take them to church, guard them from sinful influences, and pray for them regularly.
But what if you had faithfully done all this only to have your professing Christian son or daughter completely reject the faith when he or she left home? How could this happen? How would you react? Where did you go wrong? Or did you?
Unfortunately, this is an all-too common scenario, even for the children of those in Christian ministry.
This weekend on The Christian Worldview, we’ll discuss the tragic issue of professing Christians departing the faith and how should we respond.
