An inside look at the scandals that rocked the Vatican and the Papacy
- Latin for The Crime of Solicitation, which laid down the Vatican's strict instructions on covering up sexual scandal
The Roman Catholic church has been covering up sex scandals for decades now. As it turns out, the orders for the church cover up were written in Rome over 40 years ago in a 1962 secret church document: Crimen Sollicitationis - Latin for The Crime of Solicitation - which laid down the Vatican's strict instructions on covering up sexual scandal. The document calls for absolute secrecy of sexual abuse committed by priests and anyone that speaks out could be thrown out of the Roman Catholic church!
It has been "STORED IN SECRET ARCHIVES" until now. The document addresses what is called the "Worst crime" (Sexual assualt committed by a priest) "Or attempted by him with youths of either sex or with brute animals". It commands that sex crimes committed by priests within the Catholic church are to be maintained "...in the most secretive way...restrained by a perpetual silence...and everyone" (including the alleged victim) "...it is to observe the strictest secret which is commonly regarded as a secret of the Holy Office...under the penalty of excommunication."
