We recently received an email from a faculty member of a Christian college that was concerned about how widespread Roman Catholicism has become on their campus. Catholics are being added to the faculty and a growing number of Catholic students are opting to receive the Mass instead of attending the college's chapel service. This college is just one of many Christian organizations that is quickly drifting into greater apostasy. Two years ago, a Christian company, Logos Bible software implemented a new Catholic department run by Catholics and has begun increasing their Catholic resources. Sadly, it has become apparent that such Christian institutions and organizations are more concerned with enrollment and book sales than promoting biblical truth and rightly giving clarity to that which opposes it.
One of the most surprising positions recently taken, regarding Catholicism, came from pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Dallas in a television interview. Jeffress, a pastor known for not being shy with hard biblical truths, had the following to say about Pope Benedict XVI.
"The pope is a wonderful dedicated Christian man and we celebrate the ministry he has had and wish him the very best. And we pray for our Catholic friends as they go through the process of choosing a new leader and that they'll find a similar man of great faith."
