The following is from The Blaze:
In discussing his new book, O’Reilly made it clear that he believes God called him to write the book. After explaining that the idea came to him in the middle of the night, the commentator said that he believes it was ordained by the Lord.
“I believe, because I’m a Catholic, that comes from the holy spirit,” he said of the motivation and idea to write the book. “My inspiration comes from that and so I wrote ‘Killing Jesus,’ because I think I was directed to write that.” [1]

I would contend that it was not the Holy Spirit that inspired O'Reilly to write this book, but a demonic spirit. The Holy Spirit cannot lie and neither does he indwell unconverted people (Bill O'Reilly is a devout Catholic). A book such as this that divorces Jesus' divinity from his humanity is straight from the pit of hell!

Dan Delzell does a fantastic job pointing out what is wrong with O'Reilly's book -- it does not tell the whole truth but only half the truth which is really no truth at all!
Bill O'Reilly's 'Killing Jesus' Spiritualizes the Historical Christ By Dan Delzell | Special to CP
In undertaking the noble task of writing a book about Jesus Christ, the popular Bill O'Reilly unfortunately ended up cutting Christ in half. He zeroed in on the historical Jesus, while completely missing the historical Christ.
Bill stated in a CBS interview, "It's not a religious book. There's no religion in the book, nothing. It's all about history." But is that even possible? After all, we are talking here about Jesus Christ. Religion isn't just what you say about Him. It's also what you don't say about Him.
Man has always had a tendency to spiritualize the historical Christ. And O'Reilly went for the bait in what he calls his attempt "to separate myth from fact." Bill's book leaves readers with a "Jesus" who is definitely human, and perhaps even divine depending on your perspective.
In reality, Jesus truly is the Messiah, the Christ, and the Son of God. That fact is a matter of history before it is a matter of faith. It is a matter of history before it is a matter of religion. The Gospel writers understood that reality as they wrote their historical accounts.

Should Evangelicals “Love” Bill O’Reilly’s New Book? by Ken Ham
Popular TV host Bill O’Reilly has written a new book titled Killing Jesus. But should evangelicals “love this book”? Well, according to Pastor Robert Jeffress—pastor of First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas—they should!
In a recent interview with Bill O’Reilly about Killing Jesus, Pastor Jeffress said, “Evangelicals ought to love this book.” In fact, he goes on to say that evangelicals should “feel great about this book.”
Well, should evangelicals “love” this book and “feel great” about it? I suggest that evangelical Christians should be speaking out against it.

Description:
Bill O’Reilly's book The Killing of Jesus is out and it has serious problems. However, this has not stopped Southern Baptist Pastor Robert Jeffress of Dallas from going on Bill’s program and telling Bill how great the book is and how evangelicals should love Bill’s book.
Hear Bill O’Reilly in his own words declare that the book of Luke and Matthew were embellished. Hear Bill say the Holy Spirit directed Bill to write this book that undermines the Word of God as Bill does not take the Word of God literally as he openly admits much of the Bible is allegory. Hear Bill say that anyone that lives a good life will get to heaven.
Hear Bill say that Jesus was a regular guy and was very afraid and a little violent and that He was a man. Bill says that Jesus did not say some of the things from the cross that the Bible records. Twice Bill gets it wrong as to where John was when he wrote the gospel of John. Hear Bill say that people need to keep their Biblical views out of public policy and should not argue the issue such as same-sex marriage from the foundation of what God says about this topic. Hear Bill downplay the deity of Jesus Christ and His miracles.
Hear Bill say Jesus was killed over taxes; hear Bill say Jesus was killed for overturning the tables of the money changers in the Temple. Bill does not address the miracles of Jesus Christ or the resurrection of Jesus Christ and Bill declares that he and his co-author report what they could validate as being true. Yet, with all the problems with Bill’s book this does not top SBC Pastor Robert Jeffress from declaring on national television that evangelicals should love Bill’s book.

Aside from Pastor Robert Jeffress, Bill O'Reilly's new book has also generated some seemingly favorable responses from a few well-known and respected evangelical apologists. Like Brannon Howse said (with whom I agree), I think that this only confuses the issue. I also agree with Ken Ham's suggestion that "evangelical Christians should be speaking out against it."
