SEATTLE – Christian leaders and pastors attending the Resurgence conference were treated to a first-time public screening of the movie trailer for "Son of God," as presented by "The Bible" TV series producers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett."Many people thought that nobody in America, during prime-time TV wants to hear about or watch the Bible. They were so wrong. One-hundred million people tuned in," Burnett told The Christian Post backstage at the R13 conference hosted by Mark Driscoll at Mars Hill Downtown Church last Tuesday and Wednesday. "We knew when we were shooting that the Jesus portion of our 'Bible' series was special and we shot much more footage and we've re-edited many more scenes into a stand-alone feature film called 'Son of God.'"

WORLDVIEW WEEKEND RADIO: So called evangelical leaders are once again revealing their lack of Biblical discernment and commitment to Biblical truth by endorsing the Son of God movie by Mark Burnett and Roma Downey. Some evangelicals are declaring that Mark Burnett and Roma Downey are Christians and others are saying that they are being used by the Lord. Have any of these New Religious Right and Neo-evangelicals ever used a search engine to see what Mark and Roma actually believe? What does it tell you when Focus on the Family, Liberty University, Mark Driscoll, Pat Robertson, Leith Anderson, Jack Graham, Samuel Rodriquez, Rick Warren, Joel Osteen, TD Jakes and some catholic priests are all promoting the Son of God movie? Brannon plays sound clips that reveal that Roma is an admitted Catholic that talks about hearing God in the silence, thinks God is in everyone and everything and has according to USA Today, sat with physic John Edward for a reading. Don't miss this program and be sure to share with your friends so you can warn your friends about the worldview of Mark and Roma and their unbiblical movie. http://www.worldviewweekend.com/radio/audio/brannon-howse-aired-february-25-2014
"Burnett and Downey—both Christians—wanted their own depiction of Jesus to be both reverent and accurate, both restrained and poignant, honoring the beliefs of a wide swath of Christian traditions. Son of God is not the work of a couple of envelope-pushing auteurs, but rather believers who want it to reflect biblical truth."
Mark Burnett is a Roman Catholic and Roma Downey, according to her own interviews (see below), describes herself as what I would define as a new age Catholic. There is little discernment at Plugged In and Focus on the Family when it comes to making a distinction between who is a Christian and who is not according to their own beliefs and in comparison, to the Bible and also what is biblical truth despite the claim.
In late 2003 and early 2004, we were told that Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ was going to change the world. We saw breathless slogans like, “perhaps the best outreach opportunity in 2,000 years.” Rick Warren, whose book The Purpose Driven Life had made him a household name, predicted “a spiritual tsunami” would hit when the film released. When he saw this tsunami coming, he planned a two-week preaching series leading up to the movie’s release, booked 47 theatre screens so members of his church could attend with their lost friends, invited a long list of celebrities and billionaires to a premier showing, and prepared a three-week small group curriculum for follow-up. He claimed that his church rode this tsunami to incredible results: “Over 600 unchurched community leaders attended our VIP showing; 892 friends of members were saved during the two-week sermon series. Over 600 new small groups were formed, and our average attendance increased by 3,000.”
It is hard to overestimate the buzz, the excitement, and the anticipation prior toThe Passion. Do you remember it? I do.

Roma also attends the University of Santa Monica, a private graduate school founded by New Age spiritual and self-help guru John-Roger, and will graduate with a master’s degree in spiritual psychology in June.
‘As someone who has been on a spiritual journey for many years, it seems a natural extension of that work,’ says the lady still seen in Hallmark Channel reruns as angel Monica. She notes, ‘The skills I’m learning will ultimately qualify me to be a therapist’ — not that she has plans to start a practice anytime soon. ‘It’s really so interesting to learn about human behavior.’
And other matters.
Says Roma, who lives in Malibu, ‘My kids go to school about a 40-minute drive away. I’m open to the group’s opinion about what we listen to on the way there. On the way back, I get my own selections — books on tape by Eckhart Tolle, Tony Robbins…My husband says I’m so self-realized I’m practically levitating.’
